Lupus –
I was diagnosed with you and told there was no cure. For two years, I battled you until I dropped. After being defeated, I handed you the last 10 years of my life on a silver platter. I have accepted that you will always be a part of my life. I will not accept that you will control me. I control me.
You changed everything. At first, I tried to hold on to my old self, but that was all in vain. I waved the white flag and let you lead. NO MORE! Now, I am prepared for you. I have educated myself on the best ways to stay healthy and live fully. My life is not what I thought it would be. It is better. I could be caught up in the rat race, but I’m not. I have slowed down and now I can smell the roses. They smell mighty fine.
I now have a future planned. It’s no longer based on what salary I can make, but on how many people I can help. I have a one, five, and ten year plan, which I never did before. If you try to interfere, I can make a plan b, c, or d. I still have my talents and skills and that is something you can never take away.
Now that I have a better understanding of what I am up against, the playing field is level. I can see you coming a mile away and will stop you in your tracks. I am Lola VS Lupus and I might not win every battle, but I will win the war.
