On my last visit to the orthopedic surgeon, he examined my leg and X-rays and told me the bone in my leg was healed to 100%. Just 6 months before, the outlook was between 80% and 90%. And a year ago, the doctor told me I had a part of my bone that might never grow back.
I beat the odds. It did take me 10 times as long, 3 surgeries, and 7 nights in the hospital, but I did it. I refused to settle for anything less than the best recovery possible and I surprised myself, my family, and my surgeon.
I have more months of physical therapy to endure for strength, flexibility, and pain management. In less time than that, I should have a final prognosis and I’m determined to be a hundred percenter yet again.
